Jeffrey Oxendine is a former professor at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health and the founder and current CEO of Health Career Connection (HCC). He completed his undergraduate degree at California State University, Chico and accepted an administration position at the Martinez VA Medical Center before returning for graduate school in the MBA and MPH program at UC Berkeley in 1983. Oxendine worked for many years as a faculty member in Health Policy and Management at UC Berkeley and has held several administrative positions at the university, including Associate Dean for Public Health Practice. In this interview, Oxendine offers his thoughts on his career in public health management, his involvement with the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, HCC, leadership education, and his work with students.
